Main Training Session (25-30 min) Strength and conditioning at your own level
Recovery (5-8 min)
Soft tissue, breathing, recovery techniques.
3. When can I start? How do I register?
You can start RIGHT NOW!

4. Do I have to be "in shape" or injury-free to join Fukumoto Fitness?
Not at all. No participant will be left behind or asked to complete more than they are capable of doing safely. We specialize in exercise modifications so that a beginner or advanced member can workout within their fitness level. After your Blueprint Coaching Session, we will have a more clear picture of how to help or if we are the best starting place for you. Any pain or issues that are not being addressed properly will be referred to trusted therapists/physicians for further analysis so we can keep you safe as possible. One of the biggest misconceptions is that you need to ‘get in shape first’ before joining our program.
5. How soon will I see results?
Your results will vary based on YOUR COMMITMENT to your training and nutrition program. You can feel and see differences in even 1 week but the process is ongoing. “Results” are more than just ‘losing weight’ and you will also experience:
-
increased strength, flexibility, endurance, more energy, better sleep, better posture, better mood, increase self-confidence, pride in setting a good example for others…the list is long and diverse.
6. How much is a membership?
We have packages for 3 and 12-month agreements for our programs. This will vary depending on how long you commit and how many times a week. First, enjoy your 2 WEEK PROMO experience before making that decision. VISA, VISA Debit, and MasterCard are the only accepted forms of payment.
7. What are your training session times?
We run training sessions Monday to Saturday at many different times. Please check “Schedule” under “About” at the Home Page. There will be both in-gym and online training times listed HERE
8. How many people are in a small group training session?
Each group is slightly different but we often have a full program year-round. Currently, we cap all SGT sessions at 16 people but they there could be 3, 6, or 8. Our aim is to build a strong relationship with each person over time with a consistent coach. Ready for some quality time?
9. What do I bring to training?
Water Bottle. Proper indoor workout shoes and attire. Towel optional.
Positive Attitude. Epic Work Ethic. Coachable Spirit.
10. What do I wear to training?
Wear comfortable, soft, breathable materials.
Wear cross-training shoes like New Balance Minimus (or any other major brand of shoe like Nike, Reebok etc) with soles that are low to the ground (shoes that are for running are not going to be a good fit for this type of training). If your foot doctor suggests differently please follow their advice.
11. What if I can't make it to training?
We use an app called Mindbody Online (also usable on desktop) that you can access our facility schedule and sign yourself out and in when life happens! In-gym members also have access to our online content so use that if you need to be home or travelling! Currently, our in-gym members have a good amount of time to make up sessions depending on their membership (anywhere from 8 weeks to 4 months!)
12. Will I experience muscle soreness?
Yes, most likely. The initial phase of adding resistance training to your exercise program will likely cause some muscle soreness. And because we change our training programs every 4-6 weeks to keep your body from adapting, you may experience new muscle soreness each time. To help with muscle soreness, we provide foam rolling and other movement strategies before and after every session. That being said, if you’re not sore its not a bad thing (it doesn’t have to hurt to be good) so make sure you communicate with your coach on how you’re feeling if unsure.
13. Are there nutrition resources involved?
We offer a variety of nutrition support to our members. Our primary nutrition support is our P6 Nutrition Habits Program. Other things we’ve provided are: workshops, challenges, as well as access to CSA veggies boxes and farm chickens.
14. Do you run workshops or courses?
Yes, our staff have very unique expertise including Pre/Post Natal and Pelvic Floor fitness, Kettlebell training, Nutrition and more. We also visit workplaces (or do online presentations) to speak and engage on various topics.
15. Do you have showers?
No. Our facility is a great open warehouse space. That being said, it does NOT have frills like showers, saunas, or changerooms with TVs. Come dressed in your workout clothes if possible and get ready to bring it! We do have very nice bathroom facilities.
16. Can I bring my child?
The short answer is no (if a child is under 12 years of age). We have an official Fukumoto Fitness Kids Policy based on what the law requires that we are happy to send you. It centres around legal liability, safety, distraction for both parents and staff, among other things.
17. If I'm pregnant can I join? How soon after pregnancy can I join?
You will need to be cleared from your doctor (Par-med X for Pregnancy Form) to indicate it is safe to participate. If you are already used to a regular fitness routine, there is ample research and recommendation to keep it up during your pregnancy while listening to your body. Every case will be different so you need to speak with your doctor. Know that we have safely trained dozens of women while pregnant and helped them ease back into a smooth return to training afterwards.
18. What is Week 5?
Recovery Training Week is a shift in focus in training to include technique class, a fun cardio session, mobility session, and some workshops on occasion. There may be functional re-screens done at this time as well. This will happen every 5th week in a training phase for those in the Smart Group Training (SGT) program.
Most of our clients train 12 months a year and so building in a different pace and focus helps periodize our program giving better rejuvenation and consistency.
